Arcvelt in Early Summer

Summer is strong but tempered by breezes and shadows under the ever present trees. Mud is mostly dried up in New Ashen and Little Ivywood, and the scent of warm pine and cut timber reaching into the city streets. The Outlook’s forest floor hums with insect song and the chittering of terrible beasts. Langham’s Wreck leans into its role as a dry, working port for airships near the mines after a damp spring. Porte Del’arion and its eternal storm never breaks, though the air is warmer even there giving more humidity.

The Sanctuary in Early Summer

The Sanctuary in early summer is a dance of dry winds, coastal rains, and desert heat. Sand dunes outside Onuda feel baked by day, and Somati is rich with humidity as the ocean grows warm. Akutcha guards its mountain pass with breezes that range from mild to scalding, and as nights lengthen, all the region’s eyes are on the dunes, wary of stirring things beneath.

Somati: Hot and sticky, tropical rains often sweep in by afternoon - Warm.

Akutcha: Dry skies and a steady breeze funneling the canyon - Warm.

Onuda: Scorching. Sand reflects light back like a forge - Blistering.

June 26 | Night

Somati: Soft surf and humid breezes stir the jungle - Mild.

Akutcha: Nighttime chill races through the pass - Chilly.

Onuda: Deep desert cold settles under endless starlight - Cold.

June 28 | Day

Somati: Rainclouds build on the coast; warm breezes taste of salt - Warm.

Akutcha: Sharper wind; swirling dust trails along the paths - Mild.

Onuda: Scalding heat, minimal wind - Blistering.

June 30 | Night

Somati: Thunder along the ocean horizon; frogs loud in the trees - Warm.

Akutcha: Wind dies to a hush, leaving the pass chill - Cool.

Onuda: Stars burn white above dunes; gentle, dry breezes cool the sands - Chilly.

Creator Campfire Notes

Happy start of summer, everyone!

This month behind the scenes of Lithoterria we have been settling on the style of play we feel will best suit out community and vision for Lithoterria. The good news? I think we found it! The better news? It will feel pretty natural and focuses on player empowerment and control over the scene. Within the next week or so- perhaps as early as tonight in some cases- we will be rolling out some functions and channels that I think will be super fun.

Mechanic Edits

We have managed to simplify mechanics down. These edits have yet to go live on the website, but it will include files or a style of set up that allow for more accessibility for those who rely on programs that read aloud. There should be a lot less flipping through pages and a lot more simplicity moving forward that put a focus on narrative over mechanics.

Driftwood Inn

Starting tonight, we will be opening Driftwood Inn.

Driftwood Inn is a traveling airship/property that wanders the realm of Lithoterria providing good conversation, comfortable accommodations, and an full range bar. The barkeep, Demetri Blackwell, and its employees prize themselves in serving clientele from all walks of life despite the reserved atmosphere. It will serve as a beginning location for new muses needing extra assistance- or a hub for old muses to relax with a drink. But there is something strange about the property. Unusual sights, species never before seen, unspoken magic, and even regular matters of law do not reach those under the care of the staff at Driftwood Inn.

In short, the razzle dazzle aside, Driftwood Inn is the first ever location in Lithoterria that exists on fractal hallow ground. What this means is the property of this single location is subject to particularly unstable reality, this allows you to visit the property with existing characters, or you have the option of using temporary characters for the purpose of fun or test running concepts before making the effort of filling out a full length character sheet. The staff, generally, are neutral based characters that will not interfere unless the bar and inn itself become at risk.

While existing/approved characters may enter and leave Driftwood Inn, disembarking/embarking at the relevant city port of mention at their leisure, characters that do not have a sheet are bound to the property until approval has occurred.

The "in character" reason can be entirely up to you.

Unusual objects are subject to the same.

Character battles are done in narrative and context, and are subject to edits based on the unstable nature of this location.

The Wandering Wilderness & More

To allow you more control over more obscure corners of the universe, we have opted to employ some Wandering Wilderness style threads for your use over the next few weeks. Your character will still need to be around the approximate area to join locations and scenes mentioned in these threads, but it'll allow you to have private/semi private locations and overall control over the flow of the scene. Thank you for your patience and continued support. :)
