Lycanthropes, or werewolves as they are often referred to, are horrendous creatures with the power to fool you! They could be your friend, your neighbor, or even little Timmy down the road!
All it takes is the full moon to coax out their brutal, beastly nature!
Now, dear reader, you may ask “how does one become a Werewolf?”
Well look no further, as Nexicorp is bringing you the answers straight to you!
The following is Publications from the brightest minds in Magical Science of New Ashen and greater Arcvelt!
All werewolves all share the same traits. They will change under the light of a Full Moon into a hybrid beast state. Some argue they can change freely at will on days outside of this between forms of their wolf state. With unproven so-called experts suggesting they can control their shape, baring a wolf form, the common hybrid state, and rabid humanoid state. These hypotheses are currently baseless, and require further study.
Human werewolves are allegedly the most common, showcasing the shape of a humanoid and wolf hybrid beast most plainly. They grow in height and muscle mass, matching the average heights of an Eolo, with a strength that is beyond their usual means. The head becomes that of a wolf, and they demonstrate an insatiable blood lust until sunrise.
Yui werewolves among the other races beneath the Mother Tree show more variety in their transformation. They show the same traits as the human counterpart, as we will see in all racial iteration, but the flora on their bodies begins to grow out of control. Flowers and other flora gnarl into the flesh, some showing bark or root-like tendrils protruding from beneath the skin, and in some cases, overtaking limbs.
Sirin werewolves are trickier to identify, with some being mistaken for profaned, given that their bodies seem to become lankier, presumably due to a deficiency in protein from their hollow bones. Some say their wings fall off, others say they just keep them folded to their backs, making them blend in with the fur.
Freans, when they are afflicted by the beast form, are entirely feral, with the only distinction being that they show the traits of their original mammalian traits, such as antlers, if present. Lycanthropy is believed to be a disease originating from a frean's ability to transform into their beasty shape.
Eolo werewolves are often confused for giant horned lizards until the the patches of fur are noticed between the scales. Their claws and fangs becoming the most elongated of all of them and cause an excessive amount of drool. Many will chalk it up to their impure blood of these people.
Ceth are the most unique, with fur forcing it’s way out between the chitinous plating of many ceth’s ‘skin’. They still display antennae and wings, but reports of werewolf ceth are few and far between. Many believe that the ceth capture and feast upon them before they can be a cause for concern, as a delicacy.
Dealing with a Werewolf!
Simple. Kill it with anything silver!
As long as the weapon pierces the heart, or cuts off their head, they will not come back.
Good luck out there!
